Lewis Godfrey Rivett and others: Of the four Rivett chidlren, three have connections to southern Africa.

(a) Dorothy married a South African in India, and travelled to and from India/SA/England with one or two children in tow before returning to England. However, her grandchildren appear to retain their South African connections beofre movingtoAustralai - see GENI database

(b) Bernard came to England from Durban to see his dying mother before returning to Beira in Mozambique with the intention of (presumably) returning to 'southern Rhodesia'.

(c) Violet Rivett, wife of Lewis, recorded the death of her mother in Zimbabwe, her mother's last address being "The Iron Duke Mine, Glendale, Souther Rhodesia". Violet married Lewis in India in 1945; her mother died in 1949; the mine opened in the 1940s (to be confirmed) so it looks as though Lewis, Violet and her family moved to Zimbabwe at the end of WW2.

Denise Crompton, an Ancestry user has a Rivett family tree that records Lewis and Violet having one son, two grandsons, and two great-grandsons. Denise lives in Durban, South Africa; I wrote to her via Ancestry on 25 Mar 23.
