        The Census record states that the hamlet is "Gord" - I've assumed that this is Gord in Sandwick and NOT Gord in Quendale. There are other Colvin families here.

        If this is correct (there were three Magnus Colvins born in 1828!) then the man who has spent his lifetime as a fisherman, with a family of fishermen, has, in his 70s, moved to the main town and found work as a mason's labourer. Sad!!
