Notes

Note

Charles William Ingle (1863-1906) was born to Richard Ingle and Caroline Ellison. Richard worked in the leather business and Charles followed in the trade, ending up running a business making leather laces, presumably for shoes.

There is a record, in 1882, of a Charles Ingle being commissioned as a police officer in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

Note also that there is a Charles William Ingle born in 1863 who died of scarlet fever aged 7, and is buried in Leeds General Cemetery. His parents were Charles and Mary Ingle who were in the woollen trade. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/226182257/charles-william-ingle

  Narrative

Jane Dryden and Charles William Ingle - Jane died in 1904 and is buried in Otley, the family home of the Ingles, yet Charles William is buried, on his own, in the Trinity graveyard in Meanwood, Leeds. Perhaps he didn't record his wishes to be buried with his wife? They don't appear to have had any children but Jane's niece Mary lived with them for some time so surely she knew?

  Narrative

Jane Dryden and Charles William Ingle - if they had any children none appear to have survived beyond infancy.
