Notes

Note

James Wright (1877): In the 1881 Census he is living at 140 Palmerston Street, South Shields with his mother, Uretta (there are many variations on her Christian name) and his four siblings. His father, also called James, died in 1882. His mother re-married, marrying Nilson John Rosengren,(from Sweden but a naturalized British subject) at the beginning of 1883. Uretta, (maiden name Uretta Emily Taylor) originally from Bath, died in South Shields in 1912. James Wright senior came from West Bromwich, Staffordshire and was the son of a farmer.

In the 1891 census there is a James Wright, aged 14, from South Shields, on board the HMS Wellesley, moored up at North Shields. She had been refitted as a reformatory school and served as "The Tyne Industrial Training Ship of Wellesley Nautical School" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Wellesley_(1815)). There is nothing to connect this James Wright to ours but it may be the same.

In the 1921 census, James, his wife Josephine (nee Wetherell) and four children have moved to Carlisle. James' step-father, Nilson John Rosenigren (aged 66) is also with them. They both work for S. W. Couling, a plumbers merchant, based in Blackfriars Street, Carlisle. Nilson is the store keeper, James the sales rep.
